You have created gift tables, now you need to be sure you are placing them properly. Remember your goal is to drive sales and provide ideas!
While shopping this weekend, I encountered the following gift table boo-boo’s:
- Tables that were placed after cash wrap (will people be so motivated by one of those items that they get back in line?)
- Gift groupings in front of the wrong departments. For example, women’s specific products in front of menswear.
- I also encountered tables and displays that were oriented in the opposite direction of the flow of traffic.
By all means, suggest new products to your shoppers, but be careful not to confuse them. Think and travel like your customers do, and be sure your gift tables enhance their journey through your store!
